It’s been an absolute honour to contribute to Interéspecies (Interspecies) at Lisbon’s CCB – MUSEU DE ARTE CONTEMPORÂNEAE, CENTRO DE ARQUITETURA. It’s a thought-provoking exhibition exploring how humans connect, coexist, and sometimes clash with the more-than-human world. Curated by Mariana Pestana, and PhD team at Instituto Superior Técnico, the show brings together artists, architects, and thinkers to challenge old hierarchies and celebrate interdependence in surprising ways.
Tidey sits among these fascinating works—Tidey was chosen as part of the show as it syncs with the living, breathing rhythms of Earth’s tides, pulling real-time data from coastal locations worldwide. It translates the ocean’s endless rise and fall, blending technology, ecology, and a quiet reverence for natural cycles – a direct, poetic connection to the planetary forces that shape life, reminding us how deeply entangled we are with systems beyond human control.
The opening night was buzzing, packed with brilliant minds, boundary-pushing installations, and live performances that blurred the lines between species. From speculative designs to haunting audio pieces, the exhibition invites visitors to rethink relationships with nature—not as detached observers, but as active participants in a shared world.
If you’re in Lisbon before August 31st 2025, don’t miss this show. It’s rare to find a an ehibition that’s as intellectually stimulating as it is visually captivating. Huge thanks to Mariana, the CCB, and the collective of PhD candidates at the University of Lisbon that reached out to us at Tidey and for bringing this incredible more-than-human, interspecies vision to life.
